Britain at war experience
The past century was one of the most turbulent in the history of Britain. British Museum
The greatest museum of London. Houses some of the most incredible historic collections on earth, with the ‘Rosetta Stone’ probably being its most recognized item. Located on enormous building that’s a work of art on itself, in this museum you will find historic items from all over the world and from all eras, from mummies and other incredible Egyptians findings, to a whole Greek shrine. When we walk out of this museum, we will feel we just witnessed something incredible, the very beginning of humanity and all its stages until the present day. You cannot allow yourself to miss the chance to visit this incredible place.
The national gallery
This museum acts as the repository of much of Britain’s national art collection. It houses more than 2,000 painting from all places, covering 8 centuries of European artistic achievements. Perhaps its better collection belongs to the Renaissance era. Some of the best know artist that have some of their works showcased in the National Gallery are Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Picasso, Monet, Leonardo Da Vinci, Velazquez, and Botticelli.
The British Library
Inside this museum, you will be able to find exhibits on the Nobel Prize, Hans Christian Anderson, Mozart and many more collections, arts, music and culture, both modern and historical. As stated in their website: 14 million books, 920,000 journal and newspaper titles, 58 million patents, 3 million sound recordings, and so much more. A must-see.
Bank of England Museum
An interesting museum, that shows us the history of the Bank of England, since its beginnings until its modern role as United Kingdom’s Central Bank. The collection includes banknotes &, coins, documents, books, photographs and furniture. Another well known items showcased are the ‘Great Iron Chest’ and ancient balance weights.
